Transforming Addiction through Attachment and EFT - In Person Training

This advanced two-day experiential EFT training is designed for therapists who seek to refine their skills in addressing the complex interplay between trauma and addiction in couples and family systems. An integration of sociocultural sensitivity, family of origin influences, and emotional process will be addressed in approaching addiction through the lens of attachment. Led by EFT Trainer Michael Barnett, LPCC, who has devoted the past 20 years toward the integration and modification of the standard EFT process to work effectively with trauma and addiction, participants will gain practical, applicable interventions through an immersive learning environment that combines in-depth case analysis, video demonstrations of actual therapy sessions, guided practice, and targeted didactic instruction.

Training Highlights:

·       Real Clinical Demonstrations: Observe and analyze unscripted video footage showing the nuanced application of EFT principles and interventions with couples navigating both trauma responses and addiction dynamics

·       Adaptive Intervention Strategies: Learn specific modifications to the EFT approach that effectively address how trauma and addiction interact to create unique attachment challenges, injuries, and negative cycles

·       Experiential Learning: Participate in structured practice sessions to integrate new techniques, with personalized feedback and guidance

·       Advanced Assessment Skills: Develop refined abilities to identify and track the complex emotional patterns that emerge when trauma and addiction co-occur within relationship systems

This workshop emphasizes the importance of applying EFT's unique attachment focus while skillfully navigating the challenges presented by trauma responses and addiction behaviors. Therapists will leave with enhanced confidence in their ability to help couples and families establish secure connections even in the presence of these complicating factors through replacing addiciton with secure attachment.
